What is a ceramic coating?

A proper ceramic coating is a long-term nanoscopic paint treatment and protection applied by a certified or accredited detailer. A ceramic coating is applied in a liquid form and cures to a diamond hard, semi-permanent layer on top of the vehicle's paint. This top layer essentially acts like a turtle's shell, creating a hard, glossy surface while protecting the softer paint inside from scratches and swirls.


To be classified as a ceramic coating (not to be confused with a ceramic spray), the coating must contain a significant silicon dioxide component (silica, Si02), sourced from a natural earth material like quartz and/or sand. When Exquisite Auto Spa applies a ceramic coating to your vehicle's paint, the two layers bond together and begin to repel water after proper cure time.


The purpose of a ceramic coating is to protect a car's paint from blemishes and damage from daily use. After application, a coating makes car washes easier and shields the vehicle from UV rays, bird droppings and numerous other external factors.

      Ceramic coatings require particular and exhaustive preparation. This preparation is very time-intensive, as once the ceramic coating is fully cured, it is permanently locking in the hard-work performed.  If that work was not done correctly or "skimped", the outcome will not be to the highest level expected.


      Other detailers may offer a lower price than us,  providing similar products. They arrive at that lower value by cutting their labor hours. At Exquisite Auto Spa, no vehicle leaves without my sign-off showing it has met or exceeded our level of service. That high level of quality means no cut corners or cheapened end product.

    • Which Ceramic Coating is right for me?

      Our Ceramic Coating packages are designed specifically for your vehicle, lifestyle and the length of ownership. 


      The strongest coating might not be the best for your vehicle based on your lifestyle. We only recommend which package after a short discovery session.  

    • Are you certified to install coatings?

      Exquisite Auto Spa technicians are required to pass the Certified Detailer Test administered by the International Detailing Association.


      Additionally, our technicians must be certified to  install Ceramic Pro, IGL Kenzo and GTECHNIQ Crystal Serum Ultra Coatings. We are one of very few shops to offer all three of these elite ceramic coatings.
